"The Arab Maghreb Union in the hands of the private sector" is the theme of the second Forum of Maghreb Businessmen (FHAM) to be held in Tunis on 10 and 11 May, under the patronage of President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali.

This second edition will be organized by the Maghreb Employers Union and the Tunisian Union of Industry, Commerce and Handicrafts (UTICA), in collaboration with the group "Al-Iktissad Wal-Aamal." The forum will report on Maghreb integration, twenty years after the creation of the AMU. The event will be, according to organizers, "an opportunity to study the role of Maghreb Businessmen in promoting cooperation and economic integration, as well as the promotion of intra-Maghreb".

The edition will probably be a space for the construction of the Great Arab Maghreb Kingdom on economic grounds.

The organizers expect a high turnout of nearly one thousand businessmen from the Maghreb countries, as well as ministers and senior officials, personalities from the Arab world and Western investors in the region. Group leaders who have invested in Arab North Africa and foreign investors interested in the region will also be at the rendezvous.

Several issues will be discussed. They will focus on the development of the region in the direction of economic complementarity and integration process of the Maghreb economies in the context of globalization.

Other topics: "The role of investors and businessmen in Paris on the future of the Maghreb" and "The constraints of Maghreb integration" and "The constant search for political support."

This appointment is also an opportunity to stop on the Tunisian experience as a model of integration of the Maghreb. Other topics also will be reviewed, such as "The potential for industrial cooperation: capacities between Algeria and Libya."

This meeting will also address "Industrial experience of Algeria," and "Mediator Role of Mauritania to the development."

This forum should rethink on the other hand the role of banks in financing investment and business support and business people.
