Venice Carnival 2011
The 2011 Venice Carnival takes place from February 26 to March 8. A "prologue" will probably take place the weekend before Carnival, February 19 and 20.
The Venice Carnival 2011 will be the theme of a tribute to the unification of Italy and women. A preview of the next edition was unveiled at the press conference on November 10, 2010, here are some suggestions that should be the theme of the festival.
The 2011 edition will be extended by one weekend will close with a rowing regatta on the Grand Canal, quiet and candlelit. The Ca'Vendramin Calergi which houses the Venice Casino, will open as one of institutional places of festivities.
This year's themes are all indicated by the particular calendar in 2011: the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy and the coincidence with the Mardi Gras March 8 is International Day of Women.
The program this year runs from February 26 to March 8, with probably a prologue the previous weekend, 19 and 20 February.
This is a new artistic director, Davide Rampello, who runs the event this year, to renew the image of Venice to a different theme of the contender who were dedicated to "sense".
Among others, the costumes and sets will be inspired by the themes of this edition, by the 1800s and the woman.
