A festival shopping in Istanbul to create jobs and attract visitors
The financial capital of Turkey is preparing to add to its countless attractions of visitors (93 malls growing) an international event shopping. With many interests and other centers of attraction for visitors, the "Istanbul Shopping Fest" scheduled between March 18 and April 26, will enter the city certainly in the travel plans of many fashionistas. The event, also dubbed "40 Days and 40 Nights of shopping", will create approximately 50,000 jobs. Shopping malls and department stores participating in the event will stay open until late at night and propose offers and special discounts.
According to Yilmaz Yilmaz, president of the Association of Turkish Brands (BMD), one of the organizers of this first festival shopping in the country, the proliferation of malls in the city (which should reach 140 by the number of Over the next four years) could transform Istanbul into a shopping hub in the region and give it a dimension of brand apart. "The promotional activities of the festival shopping in Istanbul have already been launched in 83 countries," said Yilmaz, adding that the event would further increase the number of visitors in the country.
"The event aims to contribute to the objective of the city of Istanbul: to achieve 10 million foreign visitors," said Mehmet Nane, president of the Turkish shopping centers and distributors (AMPD).
