The Market / The construction sector in the UAE

For over a decade, the sectors of construction (residential, industrial and commercial) and public works have experienced very strong growth in the UAE (and in other Gulf countries) with, however, disparities according to Emirates or countries concerned.

Regarding the UAE, this is essentially that of Abu-Dhabi with the highest concentration of projects, Dubai still running at idle since late 2008. Indeed, the economy of Abu Dhabi, with its oil and gas resources, is still booming and projects related to urban development are very numerous (see below).

The government of Abu Dhabi has indeed made known his vision of the future economic development of the emirate during the broadcast of his plan "Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030".

The plan, which aims to establish solid and sustainable foundation for economic development leads today (and until 2030 at least) of major infrastructure projects in order to respond to growth and the needs of a growing population .

That's why this show, the largest in the region, is a must for any company seeking a minimum of time to meet many players in this sector of the UAE and surrounding countries.

The UAE remains despite political upheavals affecting some countries in the region the main gateway for European companies to the Gulf.

The fields of construction and decoration are not exempt from this scheme and many projects remain in the region. For it is especially the UAE emirate of Abu Dhabi which has the most projects.

As an example we can mention:

· Khalifa City: administrative city, $ 40 billion

· Yas island: on the island is already the Formula 1 circuit, tourism development, commercial and residential must follow, $ 39 billion

· Sadiyat Island residential projects, tourism and culture $ 28 billion

· Masdar City: the city without carbon emissions at the gates of Abu Dhabi, $ 22 billion

· Al Reem Island: tourism, residential, $ 8 billion

· Khalifa Port and Industrial Zone: $ 5 billion

· Mohammed Bin Zayed City Shaihk: residential, commercial and leisure: $ 7 billion

In other Gulf countries, we can estimate the value of projects about:

· $ 165 billion for Kuwait,

· $ 442 billion for Saudi Arabia

· $ 44 billion for Oman,

· $ 50 billion for Qatar,

· $ 49 billion for Bahrain.

These figures, if they are taken with caution, however, indicate the scale of development projects in the Gulf region. That's why this show remains in this geographical area one of the largest, if not the most important, and it allows you to meet all players in the middle of the building along the same space.
