Official opening of the carnival with this "Grand Venetian toast," a cheerful and elegant "Chin-Chin" which will combine the Venetians and visitors in the opening dance on St. Mark's Square, before a beautiful fountain of wine.

  • The Venice Film Festival on Water
    Cannaregio and Grand Canal

The feast of all the Venetians, dedicated citizens and visitors to the lagoon city. The regatta will start from the aquatic Punta della Dogana to navigate along the Grand Canal to the Rio di Cannaregio, where the public admire the passage from the banks.
The regatta will be accompanied by traditional Venetian songs. Upon arrival of the boats are open stands of wine and food, providing the public with Venetian specialties and traditional sweets of Carnival.

  • The race of Silence

Rialto to the shores of St. Mark
The spectacular farewell to Carnival 2012, regatta candlelight will create a unique moment with the parade of gondolas on the water and traditional rowing boats.
All the palaces of the city, along the Grand Canal, will be illuminated with a thousand lights, creating a magical and surreal image of Venice, and quietly by candlelight.
The ships will arrive in Saint-Marc, which will be celebrated the end of Carnival 2012.
